Carlo Antonio Gerardo Lavanga, Franciscan priest of the order of Conventual Friars Minor, known as Brother Bonaventura, from whom the chapel takes its name, was beatified in 1775. Originally it was his birthplace, in fact the facade has a really simple design; it is accessed through a stunning limestone portal from the church of the suppressed monastery of the Poor Clares of San Luca, with two winged cherub heads in the center above which two vault elements enclose a Franciscan coat of arms. Inside, the chapel consists of a single room divided into two areas by a transverse arch; the red stone altar with baroque design and the holy water font also come from the monastery of San Luca. On the altar a large canvas by painter Vincenzo Busciolano, dated 1907, depicts the Ecstasy of Blessed Bonaventura, while on the walls are depicted a Last Supper, a triptych of the Passion of Christ, works by painter Mario Prajer dated around 1950. Furthermore, some relics of the blessed are kept in a wooden urn placed in a wall aedicule and in two small wooden and metal reliquaries.
