The original building fabric, as can be seen from the 19th-century cadastral plan, was very different from the current one, with the Plebiscito square being practically non-existent until the demolitions of 1930. The only architectural elements testifying to the past are visible on the first floor of a building facing via Caserma Lucania: the stone mullioned window with a central column bearing a capital with floral motifs, dating back to the 13th-14th century, and the nearby balcony on corbels from the same period. From the examination of the masonry and the architectural reading of the structure, it has been deduced that the mullioned window and the portal are elements reused in a different position from the original one.
