To the left of the cathedral is the episcopal palace. An imposing building that develops on a rectangular plan, along the extramural road, also assuming the function of city walls. It has been subject to recent renovations, but its original architectural appearance has remained unchanged. The front facade is in exposed stone; a pair of pilasters, superimposed on the portal, supports a cornice with the episcopal coat of arms at the center. On the cornice rests a large window-balcony with a shaped stone lintel. The assassination of Bishop A. Serrao occurred in this palace in 1799.
